Same News, New Month: Travel Advertising Down
Outside Magazine posts healthy gain, while Spirit barely beats last year’s revenue

April 2002 advertising revenue was down compared with April 2001 advertising at most of the nation’s largest travel magazines, according to a survey by Publishers Information Bureau.

The exception was Outside Magazine, which was up 13.31 percent in advertising revenue. Southwest Airlines’ in-flight magazine, Spirit, was down in adverting pages but up a marginal 0.64 percent in adverting revenue.
