Introduction

Buzzy Gordon is the author of Frommer's Jerusalem Day by Day Guide (published by Wiley & Co). Currently, he is a contributing editor for Jax Fax Magazine, the travel trade publication read by 90% of American travel agents.

Over the course of a 30-year career spanning more than 75 countries, the award-winning journalist has been a reporter, copy editor, columnist, bureau chief and travel writer on five continents.

In 2007, Gordon became a regular contributor to the travel section of USA Today, a national newspaper with a circulation of more than 2.3 million.

After completing a term as one of the team of writers that compiles USA Today's 10 Great Places column, he was invited to write for Globorati.com, a leading website for luxury travel news, as well as for Travel Agent Magazine and Luxury Travel Advisor. Gordon has been a roving correspondent for LuxuryWeb.com, as well as a contributor to Away.com (of the Orbitz network), Group Tour Magazine and JohnnyJet.com.

In addition to Jax Fax, he writes for LuxuryLatinAmerica.com, the leading luxury travel portal for Central and South America; Centro y Sur, a new digital publication focusing on Latin America; and Smart Meetings, the fastest growing publication covering the conventions, meetings and the incentive travel scene, among others.

His articles have also appeared in National Geographic Traveler, The Los Angeles Times, Hispanic Magazine, Americas Magazine, Executive Traveler, About.com and Jewish publications worldwide.

Gordon is also a restaurant critic: in addition to the thumbnail reviews in his guidebook, he has authored Restaurant Notes columns for Luxuryweb.com and contributed regular reviews to the Israeli website eLuna.com, as well as the weekly newspaper The Senior Beacon of Washington, DC.

Before becoming a full-time travel writer, Gordon was published in such prestigious media outlets as The Washington Post and The World & I Magazine and was quoted in The New York Times and Newsweek.

While he accepts a wide variety of assignments, Gordon, who is fluent in Spanish, French and Hebrew, specializes in international luxury travel, particularly to Latin America, Asia and Europe. Additional areas of focus include ethnicity and culture, rail travel, gastronomy and health and wellness spas. He writes extensively on Jewish communities around the world and is an advocate for sustainable tourism.
