Introduction

My writing has appeared in major media all over the world, among them The New York Times, New York Newsday, The Irish Times, The Jerusalem Post, "Business Week," "Men's Health," "Travel Holiday," "Endless Vacation," UPI, and The Associated Press, as well as Canadian and South American media. In addition, I've written or contributed to seven books on travel and great restaurants. I truly understand the BUSINESS of travel. I was Editorial Director of the largest inflight-magazine company in the world. And I've created major communications projects for travel-related companies such as American Airlines, Air Canada, and Alamo Rent A Car. As a result of my work, I've been profiled in "Who's Who in America," "Who's Who in the South," and "Who's Who in American Writers & Poets." I write - truly - from the heart. I enjoy searchng for new experiences and new adventures, both physical and spiritual. And I enjoy bringing those new adventures to life for readers. The destinations that often fascinate me the most are the ones a bit off the beaten path, the ones in which I establish a real connection with the people and the land upon which they live. I call my style of writing "experiential" - I want my readers to see and touch and smell and hear and FEEL a place.

Experience & Expertise

I've written/contributed to fifteen books, most of them on travel. And my articles have appeared in major media all over the world, among them The New York Times, New York Newsday, The Irish Times, The Jerusalem Post, "Business Week," "Men's Health," "Travel Holiday," "Endless Vacation," UPI, and The Associated Press.
In pursuit of "The Story," I've been shot at in Northern Ireland, been a cowboy in Arizona, jumped into an alligator pit in the Everglades, flown World War II fighter planes in simulated combat, climbed in the Alps, explored ice caves in Switzerland, driven an ATV up (and down!) an 11,000 foot mountain, trekked over glaciers in Alaska, and lived on a river barge in France. And I understand the business of travel, as well. I've done major communications projects for companies such as American Airlines, Air Canada, and Alamo Rent A Car.
I'm a longtime member of SATW (Society of American Travel Writers). And as a result of my work, I've been profiled in directories such as "Who's Who in America," "Who's Who in the South," and "Who's Who in American Writers & Poets."
I enjoy visiting places that offer unusual or new experiences and adventures, whether physical or spiritual. I seek out places where I can feel a genuine connection with the people and with the land. And my writing is "experiential" - I help the reader to see and smell and hear and touch and FEEL a place.
