Award winning journalist, Karen Hamlin is a native New Englander who has recently moved to the Sarasota area. Karen has also published in the Springfield Union, The Sun, Travel World International, Experience Travel and Senior Travel, Offbeat Travel, The Big Apple Parent and is the travel columnist for “Around the Ranch” called “Get Up and Go!” Previously, she was the travel editor for City & Suburban Magazine, published quarterly with a circulation of 400,000 nationally. Among Karen’s professional interests are mature travel, cruises, beaches and cultural/historical destinations. Meeting new people in different cultures and understanding their history fuels her enthusiasm for wandering the globe. Cruising has become her specialty, taking her through most of Europe, the Caribbean, the South Pacific and the Middle East. Karen is a member of the North American Travel Journalists Association and the International Food and Travel Writers Association.
