Introduction

I am a writer, documentary film maker and teacher. I have travelled widely and love to write a about places that I have visited and the experiences I have had. I just returned from a four month voyage circumnavigating the globe as a faculty member on the Semester at Sea (Spring 2008) We visited 11 ports in Central and South America, Africa, Asia and U.S. for a total of 100 days at sea. Seeing the world with 735 college students was a rewarding and life changing experience. I am especially interested in Asia. During the Spring 2008 Semester at Sea voyage I visited India;Vietnam; Malaysia; Singapore; Hong Kong; Guilin and Shanghai; and Japan. This is in addition to ports in Central and South America and Africa. I also travelled throughout China as a Fulbright Fellow in 2006. Additionally, I have lived in Japan and taught English there. I have published travel stories about China, Japan and Singapore as well as my hometown of Boston/New England. I would love to write for publications with an interest in womens' travel, educational /cultural travel and working travel, among others. I have also produced travel and cultural videos and am interested in collaborating with those who want to incorporate travel videos on websites.

Experience & Expertise

Fulbright Fellowship in China, Semester at Sea faculty Member -- cicumnavigated the globe and taught English in Japan and travelled throughout Japan. Produced award winning TV documentaries on location in Japan and Sweden. I also shoot photos and video to accompany my writing. Candidate for MFA in Film and Photography
