Introduction

Kip Brook is a luxury travel writer. He also runs a national media company in New Zealand, Word of Mouth Media NZ Kip has won three NZ journalist of the year awards. He was New Zealand Press Association’s UK-Europe Bureau Chief Correspondent based in London for four years until 2001. He was a Foreign Press Association executive member. He used to appear regularly on BBC tv’s Dateline London Word of Mouth Media has provided press releases and other media services, media advice for many organisations, and companies and events As a journalist he covered Olympic Games, rugby, cricket, hockey, rowing and rugby league World Cups and Commonwealth Games. He covered on-site three British Open golf tournaments, three Wimbledon tennis championships, Badminton horse trials, Italian reaction in Milan for the last America’s Cup yachting final races, PM Helen Clark’s visit to Downing St, and the World Leaders’ Summit conference in Berlin. He made economic-political visits to Ireland (private meeting with Bertie Ahern and the Irish president), and to Finland (including interviews with Cabinet members and MP and former Olympic runner Lasse Viren – and also Nokia headquarters in Helsinki). For three years daily covered all other major breaking international news events in the UK/Europe from London. He covered New Zealand’s major International Wine Fairs at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea soccer stadium, for three years. He attended many major international conferences. He covered many Sothebys and Christies auction events involving NZ items. He was appointed a member of the Foreign Press Association executive committee in London. He is currently a member of the English-based Cricket Writers Society and the Rugby Writers Club. He was a member of the four-person panel, including NZ Ambassador to London, which selected the New Zealander of the Year in Britain for three years. He became regular member of the BBC TV current affairs show Dateline London. Was a regular guest on BBC radio’s annual Wimbledon tennis coverage. He was in charge of the London Office and was previously NZPA South Island Bureau Chief, former NZPA sports editor and a former newspaper chief reporter and business editor.
