Introduction
My latest book, my sixth, published by Harper-Collins Publishers is a fishing dream-book, So Many Fish, So Little Time: The 1001 Best Fishing Places on Earth. My wife Amy and I have been lucky enough to have traveled all over the world in putting this book together. I have had many other fishing buddies accompany me over the last two decades as this book evolved. In the book, I have included fisheries from the classics (Firehole to Lake Fork, Rio Negro to Devils River, Rilse to Christmas Island) and the underfished to the exotic to urban fisheries to backcountry streams and I have an array of superior angling experiences from milkfish to taimen to native trout to Nile Perch, from elegant riverside lodges to castles to camping and cabins. I am including directories of guides, shops, travel services, lodging and other info in each chapter for each locale. I have written hundreds of articles covering sports (professional baseball and basketball) and the outdoors (flyfishing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, backpacking, camping and outdoor photography) and travel. I have written for two decades as a journalist and columnist and author and have written freelance and worked as a contributing editor for numerous national magazines and newspapers (including Mens Journal, Mens Health, Dallas Morning News, SPORT Magazine, ESPN.com, Texas Sporting Journal, Baseball Digest, Basketball Digest, Texas Rangers, Cowboys and Indians, Southwest Fly Fishing, Backpacker, Flyfishing and Flytying Journal, Bass Pro Shop's http://www.outdoorsite.com/ , Amarillo Globe News and Orvis News to name a few). I have written six books: Trout Fishing Sourcebook (Menasha Ridge Press), The Backpacking Angler (Menasha Ridge Press), Freshwater Flyfishing Tips from the Pros (Fireside / Simon & Schuster), Flyfishing Southwestern Colorado (Wayfinder Press), Knots for Flyfishers (Menasha Ridge Press) and the aforementioned So Many Fish, So Little Time: The 1001 Best Fishing Places on Earth for HarperCollins.
