Roth, a former Congressional press secretary, graduated from Wabash College in 1984 (BA -Philosophy/American History) and New School University in 1988 (Media Studies/Journalism). Experience & Expertise

"Visiting Vietnam" was a 1,800 word feature that I wrote near the 25th anniversary of Saignon's fall for the Jewish Journal. There were two sidebars, one on "How To" tips and "Jewish Vietnam" (to justify the assignment.) While the vast majority of my writig has been on education reforms, political campaigns, book reviews, and profiles, I have also also written a few travel peices. For instance, a syndicated article on Thessaloniki's historical museum and its strange distortations was printed in five different Jewish publications. (Thessaloniki's population was over half Jewish for five hundred years - until World War II, but the huge Museum somehow overlooked that minor detail.) I should probably mention that my wife and I took an eight month "walk around the planet" in 1997-1998 and wrote a weekly email newsletter for our friends and family. We deliberately decided to not write, at that time, for publications because we wanted a break from our stressful lives. Our travel newsletters, however, will be posted on my still evolving website. I have visited over 40 countries during my life. As a college professor at University of Southern California, I have the opportunity to find out about a wide variety of future travel destinations. My wife, who did a radio piece for Marketplace Radio (MPR),
